Genetic Engineering via CRISPRs and TALENS:

The advent of genome editing tools such as CRISPRs and TALENs allow for precise modification of target genes. By introducing a double stranded break at the intended locus, the target gene can be knocked out, or exogenous alleles introduced to create genetic models of animal disease or for introduction of novel traits into animals.
